Art Rogue Receives Award for Outstanding Achievement in Dowtown Arts and Culture

On Thursday, September 20th 2007, Art Rogue and other Nashville First Saturday Gallery Crawl participants were given awards for Outstanding Achievement in Downtown Arts and Culture at the Nashville Downtown Partnership 2007 Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon. That was a mouthful.

Outstanding Achievement

The luncheon was held in the Grand Ballroom at the Renaissance Hotel with over 700 people in attendance not including news media and photographers. Art at the Arcade member Tim Cope was photographing the event and hopefully he will pass some images along.

Several major Nashville players were there to talk about Nashville’s current progress and milestones met. Much was also discussed about things to work toward and look forward to. The audience heard from Mayor Bill Purcell on his final day in office as well as incoming Mayor Elect Karl Dean. It was also Mayor Dean’s birthday. Today is his first day as Nashville’s new Mayor.

It was great to receive acknowledgment for all the hard work and dedication we, the galleries, artists, studios, and patrons, have invested in making Nashville a respected city for visual arts. I’m sure many in attendance had no idea about the Gallery Crawl so hopefully we’ll pick up more support and maybe a few new clients.
