October in a Nutshell - Blogging From My Air Mattress
Things have been quite hectic in my world lately and some of you may have noticed that I haven’t posted any new work lately. Worry not. I’ve been a busy bee in the creative hive.
October brings many great things. The cool air, changing leaves, football games, and most importantly Halloween. Back in the day when I lived in Missoula Montana my crew would throw an event on Halloween that we call the BarnBurner. It started out deep in the mountains and we all know mountains bring out the crazy in folks. Bands, djs, alcohol, and many other things that shall not be mentioned stoked the fire of the BarnBurner. This year is the 11th Annual Halloween BarnBurner and most of the original crew is scattered throughout the United States, but we run the event remotely and have passed the local logistics to the new blood of Missoula.
This year I was in charge of redesigning the website www.thebarnburner.com and designing the flyers, posters, and newspaper ads. It’s been a challenge and many long hours were spent coming up with something worthy of representing an event that is so much a part of our lives.

As I write this I am laying on an air mattress in my new bad ass loft. I’ll post pictures when we have it decorated. I do however have photos of the 40,000 square foot haunted house, The Devil’s Dungeon under my loft. On the weekend nights I can hear the soothing sounds of death metal and screaming below my bedroom.

If I walk out onto my beautiful balcony overlooking the Cumberland river I can look down and see all the people exiting the haunted house. It can be quite amusing to throw candy at the patrons when they exit. As they look up expecting the candy a dude with a chainsaw jumps around the corner and scares the bejesus out of them. I have never seen so many people run so fast since the olympics. It never gets old.
