Using My Blog as an Art Marketing Machine
I was checking out my web stats the other day and was totally disappointed. I have decided to make a serious effort at gaining a better web presence and following. My whole philosophy as an artist is to make my art accessible to the most amount of people possible. This is why I keep my pricing so low and work in open editions. The internet is an invaluable tool to market and show my artwork and photography. I had to be proactive and make some changes around here.
The first change I have implemented is the ability to post comments. There is much discussion around the topic of comments these days, but I could care less. The more feedback and interaction I have with folks out there the better in my opinion. Leaving comments encourages community. something necessary in the art world.
The second thing that I have implemented was the ability to add my posts to social network rating and bookmarking sites such as Digg , del.icio.us , Technorati , and ma.gnolia.com .
The third change was changing the “Journal” section to “Blog”. There is certainly debate on the difference between a blog and journal. I feel that I belong in the blog camp.
So with all the changes, feel free to bookmark me, rate me, and say your two cents in the form of comments. I promise to post more blogs, photographs, and artwork.
